Colin Hunter – Chief Executive

Colin Hunter brings many years’ experience to the Company. Colin spent ten years in South Africa working for the mining companies Impala Platinum Ltd and Gencor Ltd., before moving to Ghana where he spent two years working for Ashanti Gold Mines Ltd as a specialist in minerals processing and bacterial leaching. In the UK, Colin worked with junior mining company Osmium Ltd on a Nickel/PGM project in Siberia and he has also worked extensively in the mining industry in Australia, where he developed and commissioned a nickel mine in the Pilbara region and was a director of a mining technology company, Pacific Ore Limited, (which specialised in bacterial leaching). He was also involved in the start-up and listing on the Australian Stock Exchange of the then tungsten mining company, Vital Metals Limited of which he was a director for 3 years.

Colin graduated from the University of Manchester in 1978 with an honours degree in Metallurgy and went on to study at the Brunel University in Middlesex where he was awarded a PhD for his work on the froth flotation of sulphide minerals.

Gavin Ferrar – Non-executive Director

Gavin Ferrar has post-graduate degrees in geology and finance and has been involved in the mining sector for 20 years.  His career in industry began at Anglo American plc in the New Mining Business Department and culminated at AngloGold as a Project Manager for a feasibility study on a gold project in West Africa.  Gavin then spent 10 years in the investment banking sector covering a range of equity and debt financings for junior and major mining clients for Barclays Capital and Investec plc.  Since 2011, Gavin worked with junior mining companies arranging finance and providing corporate advisory services before joining Central Asia Metals full-time in June 2014 as Business Development Director.

Mihailo Nenadovich Vuletin – Non-executive Director

Mihailo Nenadovich has over 15 years’ experience in the research and development of mining exploration projects including the Mollacas, Vallecillo and La Loica Projects, currently owned by Metminco Limited (ASX:MNC), and Las Loas, a project controlled by Lachlan Star Limited (ASX : LSA), in which Mihailo holds a royalty interest. Mihailo is also involved in other business activities, managed jointly with his family, including fish farming (Trusal S.A.), where he is a director and also other enterprises in the agriculture, real estate and engineering sectors in Chile. Mihailo holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Chile, Santiago, Chile.

Howard Nicholson – Non-executive Director

Howard Nicholson is a metallurgist with 33 years of experience in project development and mine operations management. Formerly COO of European Minerals Corporation, Howard contributed to the development of a large copper-gold mine in Kazakhstan and, prior to this, held senior management positions with Ashanti Goldfields, Lonrho and Anglo American. Howard is Technical Director of Central Asia Metals plc.

Nigel Robinson – Non-executive Director

Nigel Robinson is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and formerly a Royal Navy officer in the Fleet Air Arm. Upon leaving the Royal Navy, he qualified with KPMG where he stayed for a further three years before leaving to work in commerce. Nigel worked for 6 years in various management roles with British Airways before leaving in 2002 to become more involved in smaller enterprises. He joined Central Asia Metals plc in 2007 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2009.
